Pictures of weight loss

Well, I finally got around to finding the picture of me and DH at Becca's wedding on January 5th. We were both at our heaviest at this point.

They aren't the best pictures in the world for seeing how heavy I was, but let's just say that those pants and that top don't even come close to fitting now! Here is a picture of me on March 13, which was Picture Day. And yes, I'm that girl who stands in the staff bathroom and takes a picture of herself.

This was down 18.2 lbs and the shirt and pants are down a size!
I will try to post new pics with each clothing size. And I'll post his as well!

David and I joined Prairie Life on Friday. It's a little more expensive than we were hoping for, but we figure if we can get into shape as well as lose weight, it's worth it. Plus, it's one more thing that we can do together! We are going for a swim class today! It's out by his work, so he can go before or after work. It has fairly easy interstate access, so I can go after work to a class if I want! We're both so excited to see the weight coming off and getting into shape and doing it together!

25 down, 25 to go!

I can't believe it! I went to weighin on Friday, and I lost 6 lbs! I usually gain weight over conferences because I'm stressed and eat alot. But, I lost! :-) So, I've hit the 25 lb mark AND this was also my 10%. I can't believe I've lost 10% of my body weight in 3 months. I'm so ecstatic! Next week, I will officially set my ultimate goal. It will probably be 25-30 more lbs.

In other news: one of the CL cops has seen me in a towel. And he thought I looked good! I finally found my Christmas gift from my mom, so next time I need new clothes, I can get a good chunk of clothes - especially if I can find stuff on sale at Fashion Bug!

We joined a gym yesterday also. We decided to go with Prairie Life, which is a little more expensive than I wanted, but it's worth it for us. There are different classes going on. The one thing I wish is that there were some around 7 or 8 at night because then I wouldn't have to rush as much. But, the hours are super convenient for both David and I. He went this morning after work and loved it. I'm going tomorrow after church for a swim class! Super excited!!!!

I'm in class today, which sucks. I have class until 12:00 and then I'm working until 5:00. That's about all in the world of Amanda! Thanks for reading! Oh, and another recipe will be on tonight - yummy meatloaf!

Baked Ziti with Turkey Sausage

1/2 tsp dried thyme

Getting Organized

Well, we bought our house back at the very end of September. We installed a dishwasher almost right away, and lost most of our under-the-counter space doing so. So, we've been making do by using the table to hold our pots and pans. Too bad the table is about to die.

So, my dad gave us some bookshelves, and we turned one of them into a little pantry. Our pots are now in the cabinets, and all dry foods are in our new make-shift pantry! To make it look more finished, I added a curtain to it, just so I don't have to look at all that food all the time!

I'm pretty proud of my work! Eventually, we'll build in a real pantry, but for the time being, this was a $20 project that looks nice and got rid of the table from the middle of the kitchen. Oh, and we even have our counter space back because I can actually put all my groceries away!

Barbequed Turkey Joes

Preparation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 15 min
Level of Difficulty: Easy
Servings: 4

Use extra-lean ground turkey to help keep the fat down in this zesty, quick-cooking sandwich. Opt for a tangy barbecue sauce for extra flavor.

Ingredients
1 pound lean ground turkey
1/2 medium bell pepper(s), chopped
1/2 medium sweet red pepper(s), chopped
1/2 medium yellow pepper(s), chopped (we added this ourselves for a little more color and a slightly different flavor)
1/2 medium onion(s), chopped
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1 cup barbecue sauce
4 medium mixed-grain hamburger roll(s), sliced in half

Instructions
** Brown turkey in a nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain off liquid. Add peppers and onion and cook until tender, about 3 minutes.
** Add barbecue sauce and cayenne pepper; heat thoroughly, stirring frequently, about 2 minutes.
** Top bottom half of buns with turkey mixture; cover with top half of bun and serve.

New clothes!

Today was Picture Day! I normally hate picture day with a passion ~ the kids are all dressed up, so I can't do anything that is messy. It sucks. Well, this year was different...

With 18.2 lbs lost as of tonight, I needed new clothes! I went to Fashion Bug to get a couple things - enough to get by until I can hit Steve & Barry's this weekend. I might also hit the outlet mall and see if I can get anything affordable down there!

I'm extremely proud of this outlet: the pants are a full size down, and the top is a misses rather than women's! I also got 2 other shirts that are womens because most of the misses tops were too low cut. AND a pair of jeans that are a little too tight but will fit in a week or two!

Oh, and David joined tonight! I am so excited because now we can do it together ~ he's been eating what I cook, but now it will be different because he's tracking as well! We're excited to get started!

And my recipe posting will start tonight!

Date night!

So, David and I don't really go on dates - we don't have time. So, when we go on dates, they are usually pretty big!

Last night, we went to see Jeff Dunham at the Pershing in Lincoln. We started the night at Misty's for dinner ~ oh my god, their food was fabulous! The puppies went to doggie daycare and had SO much fun!

Okay, so I had never really seen Jeff Dunham before ~ a few clips on YouTube but nothing much. David wanted to go, and tickets were only $35/each, so we went! I haven't laughed so hard in SO long!!! We didn't get anything that night, but we are SO ordering his videos!!! We didn't get home until late, but it was totally worth the exhaustion today!

The end. :-)

I love my body!

Well, most of the time...

I had weigh in last night, and clocked in at 4 lbs LESS than last week! I am SO flipping happy! I think maybe my metabolism is changing, because I actually didn't eat all that well this week, and I didn't work out (like I EVER do?)... but, hey, I'm not gonna argue!

David and I got into a big fight about the house and bills. It frustrates me when he tells me that he'll do something, and then doesn't get around to it. He was supposed to pay a bill last week, and still hasn't. His excuse? "We have a cushion until the 15th!" I DON'T CARE. Pay the damn bill when we have the money. He also is supposed to keep the kitchen clean for me. Like that is EVER going to happen. So, by being so frustrated, I messed up dinner ~ forgot to cook the pasta and accidentally dumped it in, which obviously ruined the meal. So, I had a microwave dinner and left the house for a while to cool down.

Not sure yet if we're "better" or not. Sure hope so or it's going to be a LONG weekend ~ he actually has a couple nights off. Surprised as hell about that!

Hopefully the next blog will be slightly better humored.

You're shitting me, right?

So, about 3 weeks ago, our van was in an accident. We let a friend borrow it to go get groceries for her son, and she was side swiped. The guy gave her the insurance card and drivers license then said "Let's just file it later ~ we don't need to call the cops." Yeah, well his insurance was bad and he is wanted by the cops!

So, fast forward.. and the van is supposedly done, right? David goes to pick it up on Thursday and sees 3 things that weren't there when we dropped it off. It took him 45 minutes of arguing with the guy to get him to admit that 1 of them was definitely their fault. The insurance agent said "well, it's not in any of our paperwork, but those aren't our liability." So, they called today at 2:00 and said "It's done. Come pick it up today." Well, David sleeps during the day, so didn't get the message. The rental car company calls me and let me know that they weren't going to be covering the car anymore ~ that the charges would be our responsibility.

I went with David to CarStar on 120th & Maple and threw a fit. Of course, the manager was gone and this moron that's been "working" with David (if that's what you want to call it) says "Well, you should have discussed this with me sooner." How can I when you close at 5:30? I told him that I would be calling BBB if this was not resolved to my satisfaction ~ as in fix the stuff that was not there when we brought the van to you.

So, yeah, I'm pretty pissed today. They WILL fix these things or they will regret the day that they lied to me.

My first blog!

Well, I've decided to start blogging the insanity that I call life. Enjoy! :)

Right now, my husband, David, and I are trying to have kids. We've hit some road blocks, but we still have hope. We know that we will have kids someday. We are destined to be parents. We will find a way. It makes us both angry when we see people who can just open their legs and can get pregnant ~~ don't get me wrong, every child is a blessing. And people who can actually raise their children and provide a good life for them - I'm happy for them. I get so excited hearing when friends are pregnant, but it does make me wonder "when's it my turn?" And then my SIL gets pregnant and she hasn't even raised the one she has. She and my BIL waste their money on cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs. They would rather have a digital camera than diapers for her son. And now she's having another one. bitch

I started Weight Watchers 8 weeks ago. So far, I've had great weeks except for last week. I've last a total of 12 lbs, which includes last week's gain of a pound. I'm a stress eater. I know this. And last week was stressful! I'm working on seeing this as a lifestyle rather than a diet. I'm getting there. I hate when people look at me taking a 1/2 doughnut and saying "You can't eat that." F*** off! I am the one who decides what I eat ~ not you.

We bought a house at the end of September and are working on saving money up so that we can fix it up a little. We want to add a room to the living room for our office ~ and then the second bedroom can be an actual bedroom. We want a privacy fence and a garage put in in the backyard. We also need to update our electric stuff and just do alot of updating in general.

So, that's it for now... I need to figure this stuff out so that I can add pics and all that fun stuff. I hope you enjoyed my first installment of Random Ramblings! :)
